 – by His own breath, God breathed His life into man

Ps. 33:6
– God created everything, so why are we so worried about everything?

Ezk. 37:9,14
– God wants to breathe on the dry, that they shall live in His glory

John 20:19-22
– God’s gift of the Holy Spirit is the breath of life you need today

A – Airway (we need to position ourselves to receive what God has to say and what God want’s to do in your life)
B – Breathe (we must receive His presense and heed His directive. Give the Holy Spirit His voice in our affairs)
C – Circulation (we take what He has given to the whole body, and the whole world – you can’t give what you haven’t received)

Don’t Receive What God Hasn’t Given You, Part 2

2 Tim. 1:6-7 – God has not given us a spirit of fear
Rom. 8:14-17

1. There are things we must refuse, and things we must accept
Matt 12: 43-45
– it’s not enough to just get rid of bad stuff, but I need to fill/replace it with that which is from God

2. We must take hold of what God has given us
John 1:12
– receive – take hold of like with my hand – not just think about
– what are you taking hold of? doubt, depression, or hope, wisdom?
– what we receive from the Lord determines what we become
– I have the power to become what I receive from God

3. We must refuse condemnation and receive freedom/
Rom. 8:1-2

4. I efuse worry and receive peace
Luke 12:22-23
– be men and women of the truth
– Jesus says don’t worry, don’t be divided in your mind
John 14:1,27

5. I refuse a spirit of rejection because I receive favor and acceptance

1. Don’t receive what God hasn’t given you.
“God has not given you a spirit of fear” (2 Tim. 1:6-7)
 – becuase fear involves torment. God’s not out to torment you. 1 John 4:18
 – fear makes cowards of us all
 – fear holds us in bondage and paralyzes us
 – fear in essence is rehearsing for failure
 – we get addicted to security because we fear the unknown. But it’s a false security
 – F.E.A.R. -> False Evidence Appearing Real

2. God has given us a spirit of power (Acts 1:8)
 – we’ve been given a spirit of love (1 John 4:18)
 – this spirit helps us recognize what God hasn’t given us
 – God had given us a spirit of a calm (sound) mind. The spirit we’ve been given just doesn’t freak out.

3. We are to take action. We must activate what God had given us.
Phil. 2:13
Heb. 13:5-6
 – we need to begin to move with God, we can’t just stand there.
 – God’s waiting for us to take action

The cross itself doesn’t have any power, but it represents the power of God

 – the story of Zacheus is a story of a life changed because of the cross
 – the moral triumph of the cross
