Re-Wired Within, Dr. David Baldwin

Rom. 12:1-3
John 1:12 – we need to be re-wired so we can receive Jesus
– Ministry is the overvflow of what we receive from God
– God will never have a money problem
– seldom will you have a money problem…but you may have a symptom of a deeper problem

Ps. 46:1, Isa. 28:20 – trouble refers to anything narrow or confining

Ps. 23:4 – “walk through” – you don’t stay
– if you want to change your outer world, you needc to change your inner world
– God takes the opportunity of walking through the tunnel of trouble to prepare us for what’s to come.

Prov. 23:7 – beliefs…thoughts…emotions…actions = destiny
– I become what I thinka bout myself (Num. 13:33
James, 1:8, Rom. 4:20 – mixed beliefs leads to having a double-mind

– God wants to break our small coffee cup mentality so He can give us a bigger plan
– Num. 13:30 – don’t talk to God about how big your problems are, but talk to your problems about how big God is.

3 steps to being re-wired within
1. Erase old mental and emotional tapes

2. Create a new set of pictures (Heb. 10:32
  – the imagination is the Holy Spirit’s workshop

3. Meditate on God’s Word (Josh. 1:8)
  – not just reading, but reading 15 times and praying a passage of scripture
  – you know your meditating when you talk about it
  – Ps. 39:13 – whatever we mediate on will heat up

Freedom, July 5, 2009

John 8:1-35
freedom of religion, not freedom from religion
Rom. 13:4, Judges 21:25

We must hold truth in our country

1. Truth gives us the real base for freedom, truth breaks the control of slavery
– evaluate what you believe in light of God’s Word, John 18:37

2. God’s Word is truth, Prov. 26

3. It’s a choice
– “if you abide in me and my words abide in you”
– abide: to continue to learn – apply the Word to our lives and live by it.

4. We will kknow the truth

– what is your answer? will it be like the Jews in John 8:33? Are you blinded by your own sin? our answer determines our destiny and freedom
