– John 14:1-11
– the work “know” is used 141 times in John’s Gospel, but it does not always carry the same meaning. In fact, there are four different “levels” of knowing according to John:
1. the lowest level is simply knowing a fact.
2. the next level is to understand the truth behind that fact.
3. the third level introduces relationship; “to know” means “to believe in a person and become related to him or her.” – John 17:3
4. the fourth use of “know” means “to have a deeper relationship with a person, a deeper communion.” – Phil. 3:10
– Thoughts:
1. Let Jesus be your model (Col. 2:6-7, Eph. 4:25-32, Eph. 5:1-2)
2. Bow your knees before our Heavenly Father often (Eph. 3:14-21)
3. Talk to Him when you walk in the way (Deut. 6:1-9)
4. Let God turn your heart toward the children (Mal. 4:6)
5. Yield to the Holy Spirit to know Him as “Abba” (Rom. 8:12-15, Gal. 4:1-7)
6. Let our Heavenly Father, Father you and Father through you
– Ps. 19:7-14
